Lecture by Dr. Randall Fuller: "Walt Whitman's Civil War"

Event Description - Lecture by Dr. Randall Fuller: "Walt Whitman's Civil War"

Dr. Randall Fuller (University of Tulsa) will discuss the Civil War's impact on American writers, focusing on Walt Whitman. Fuller's book "From Battlefields Rising" won the 2011 Christian Gauss Award from the Phi Beta Kappa Society. His visit is co-sponsored by English, History, Music, Phi Beta Kappa, and the Spence L. Wilson Chair in Humanities.

Fuller's lecture follows an April 4 discussion about Civil War history and music by Professors Huebner and Skoog (7pm, Tuthill), and precedes the April 14 concert of Whitman's verse set to music (3:30pm, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception).
